A love stronger than the world you know...

The lands are dying. The sun has been permanently eclipsed in disembodied shadow. On the earth, the darkness left in the absence of the sun weighs heavily on the heart of the princess Gaia, whose spirit calls desperately for the warmth of her love, the sun itself. However, Gaia's betrothal is approaching. Gaia's father King Frederick is desperate to see his daughter married to a wealthy noble, and her nursemaid Margo just wants to see Gaia away from the clutches of her abusive father. But in her heart Gaia knows that there is only one love that can ever satisfy her heart, and the star of her affections is in another galaxy altogether...

 

"Gaia" is a film by third-year film and television students Linda Knight (writer/director) and Ben "Seeka" Crowle (producer). "Gaia" explores themes of love, spirituality, fitting into society, and finding a home through love. "Gaia" uses a blend of live action filming, and 2-D animation inspired by Art Nouveau, to deliver a truly unique film experience designed to transport viewers to a land of myth and magic.
